One of the largest Hybrid Utility Scale Project (238MWp) located in Tenevo village, Bulgaria is already in operation. Despite the challenges, the first phase of the Tenevo renewable energy Hub (PV+BESS) is now operational, marking a significant milestone in Bulgaria’s energy transition.
As turnkey EPC contractor of this landmark project for whole Eastern Europe and specifically Bulgaria, Solarpro successfully commissioned the first 69 MW of PV capacity along with all connection facilities to the 400 kV TSO (ESO) electrical transmission grid. The 400 kV substation along with the overhead line (OHL) is the first of its kind built in Bulgaria in over 30 years, with all main equipment supplied by Siemens Energy.

The next phase is progressing, with the remaining solar capacity and a 315 MW / 760 MWh battery energy storage system (BESS) cheduled for commissioning in early 2026. Once complete, Tenevo will combine 238 MW of solar power with one of the most advanced battery storage systems in the region.
We sincerely thank Renalfa IPP and Eurowind Energy for their trust in Solarpro to deliver this landmark project. Stay tuned!
