On April 20, 2023, Solarpro organized an educational visit to photovoltaic plants for students from Professional High School of Electrical Engineering and Technology “G.S. Rakovski”, Stara Zagora.
The event was attended by 17 students, who were accompanied by their teachers Eng. Georgi Vodenicharov and Eng. Rumiana Georgieva. Solarpro experts on site presented to the students the technology for generating electricity from sunlight – showing them the main components of the system – photovoltaic panels, inverters, electrical installations, transformer stations and communication system, as well as the principle of operation, design and construction of the plants.
The two plants visited are located in the area of Sliven – one in the village of Chintulovo and the other on the territory of ZMM Sliven. They were built 10 years apart, which allowed the students to see the evolution of the equipment over time – more efficient panels, smaller and easier to install and maintain inverters. The plant in the village of Chintulovo is ground-mounted, connected to the grid and with central inverters, feeding all its energy into the grid. The plant at ZMM Sliven, on the other hand, produces energy mainly for the company’s own needs, with the surplus being transmitted to the grid, and is built with string inverters.

During the visit, a discussion was organized on career development opportunities in the company – Solarpro is one of the leading employers in Bulgaria in the field of renewable energy and actively supports the education and development of young professionals in the region.
In March of this year, the team from the Professional High School of Electrical Engineering and Technology in Stara Zagora received special recognition for their innovative projects at the 7th National High School Competition “Energy and Us,” which took place at the Technical University of Varna. These projects included a solar-powered radio station and a sun tracking system for photovoltaic panels.
As a responsible and socially engaged employer, Solapro is committed to organizing initiatives that inspire and motivate young people to pursue education in Bulgaria. The success of these endeavors is made possible by dedicated teachers, support from parents in the home environment, and students who demonstrate an interest in their own development and education that contribute to a better future for Bulgaria.
